Care Assistant

You will have experience within the care sector and have a warm, friendly personality with a genuine interest in promoting excellent standards of care for the elderly.

The following are essential skills for the job role;

flexibility (within the workplace, and with working hours)
excellent communication skills
good social and interpersonal skills
ability to work within a team
be able to use own initiative
ability to be a one-to-one carer

A Moving and Handling Certificate and SVQ or equivalent is essential.

You must be able to support and assist the elderly in accordance with their needs and expressed wishes, and also help them maintain their independence and dignity. You may have to work with people who have dementia and therefore relevant experience would be neccessary.
